From a Van, to a Garage, to What We Are Today

Absolute Flooring and Design started in 2013 with one van, one founder, and a lot of grit. Jamie VanTuinen ran the whole operation out of that van - samples in the back, tools packed tight, and every job earned one at a time. When the business outgrew the van, they moved it into their own garage in Wyoming, Michigan, with no outside backing and no safety net. As Jamie puts it, "we didn't inherit our business, we risked it all." That risk paid off one job, one referral, and one happy customer at a time.

Flooring runs deep in Jamie's family, too. He's a third-generation flooring professional, which means the craftsmanship behind every install isn't something our crew learned from a manual - it's a trade passed down and refined over decades. More than a decade after that first garage, Absolute Flooring and Design has grown from that first garage into a boutique showroom right here in Kentwood, but the family-run, no-pressure way we treat every customer hasn't changed one bit.
